Terms
Effective May 12, 2026
Summary
Write Lint is free. Use it. Don't sue us.
Permission
You may install and use Write Lint on any Mac you own or are authorized to use. Source code is published at github.com/bilozorDev/writeLint under the license shown in that repository.
No warranty
Write Lint is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee:
- That the polishing output will be correct — the model can make mistakes; review the diff before accepting.
- That the app will run on every Mac configuration.
- That Apple will keep the Foundation Models framework available or unchanged.
- That third-party model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) will keep their APIs, pricing, models, or terms available or unchanged.
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Limitation of liability
We are not liable for any loss, data corruption, or damages arising from your use of Write Lint. Always keep backups of important text before using any AI-assisted editor, including this one.
Model dependencies
In default mode, Write Lint depends on Apple's Foundation Models, which are subject to Apple's terms and availability. The behavior, quality, and language coverage of the underlying model is controlled by Apple and may change as Apple updates macOS.
If you opt into cloud mode by adding an Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI API key, your use of those providers is subject to their respective terms of service and acceptable-use policies. Their behavior, pricing, available models, and rate limits are controlled by them, not us, and may change at any time. You are responsible for all charges incurred on your own account.
Trademarks
“Write Lint” is the name of this app. “Apple”, “macOS”, “Apple Intelligence”, and “Foundation Models” are trademarks of Apple Inc. “Anthropic” and “Claude” are trademarks of Anthropic, PBC. “OpenAI” is a trademark of OpenAI, Inc. All used here for descriptive purposes only; use of those names does not imply endorsement.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and bump the effective date above. Continued use of Write Lint after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
